About
Enoch Kambale
I'm a full-stack and AI engineer. I gravitate toward the unglamorous corners of a product (billing, compliance, search, e-signatures, RAG) and the quiet work of making them hard to break.

Overview
I taught myself to code from YouTube tutorials in high school. At 16, during the COVID lockdown, I co-founded Jobzy with Matt Magera, a friend from Mang'u, on about $15 and a domain name. I ran it as CTO for five years and built most of it myself: a gig marketplace, an AI recruitment product (Talanta), the backend behind both, and a mobile app. It grew past 20,000 engagements across 16 service categories and won Startup of the Year at the 2023 East Africa Awards.
I started a Computer Science degree at the University of Nairobi and left at 20, partly because a lecturer told me I'd done too much on a class project. I took the hint. Around the same time I'd been building a refugee-support tool with the ILO for the Dadaab and Kakuma camps; when the funding behind it was cut, the project wound down, and I joined GitLaw a few months later.
These days my work sits between product engineering and applied AI. At Priority Soft I'm the only engineer on a US healthcare-compliance platform that generates IRS ACA forms. At GitLaw I build the legal-companion workflow: billing, free e-signatures, a lawyer-vetted template community, and file management. Underneath, both jobs are the same puzzle: take a regulated, high-stakes domain and make it feel simple and worth trusting.
What I'm looking for
I'm after a senior full-stack or AI engineering role on a small team that ships and sweats the details, ideally building AI-native or vertical SaaS. What I bring: a founder's habit of owning the whole problem, real scars from payments, compliance, search, and LLM systems, and a stubborn preference for finishing things.
Where I stand on AI
I'm fully pro-AI, and I vibe code daily in production without apologizing for it. But I treat every agent like a fast, tireless junior developer with zero ownership: I write the spec, I review the PR, I own what ships. What actually scales isn't coding speed, it's clarity. I wrote the long version here.
Professional Experience
At Priority Soft (2026–present), I am the sole engineer building an ACA (Affordable Care Act) compliance platform for a US tax resolution practice. The platform handles IRS Form 1094-C/1095-C generation, employee coverage tracking, payroll data parsing, and form validation, with plans to become a commercial SaaS product. Built as a Turborepo monorepo with Next.js 16, React 19, Drizzle + PostgreSQL, BullMQ + Redis workers, and Railway deployment.
At GitLaw (2025–present), I own core workflow surfaces that let users draft, review, sign, and store legal documents in one place: billing (checkout, subscription management, organization billing), community templates (public library with SEO), free e-signatures (signing workflows, recipients, delivery), and file management (search, version history, metadata, forking). The stack includes Next.js, React, TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Stripe.
At Eckeka (2025–present, part-time), I lead technical product development for a packaging risk intelligence MVP: a typed recyclability & circularity scoring engine, Supabase with Row Level Security, structured AI report generation with gpt-4o, and EPR compliance tracking.
Previously, I co-founded Jobzy (2020–2025) and served as CTO, building the entire stack: a service marketplace, Africa-focused recruitment and employee verification platform, Node.js/TypeScript backend, and a cross-platform mobile app with React Native/Expo.
Currently building Atlasium, an early-stage AI-native developer tooling startup (pre-product).
Projects
VidScript (2025): Open-source TypeScript CLI that converts videos into AI-generated PDF notes using on-device Whisper transcription, Claude/GPT, and optional Pinecone-backed RAG. Published to npm (5 releases).
YouTube Research Agent (2025): Open-source Python CLI that searches YouTube, summarizes transcripts using GPT-3.5 Turbo via LangChain map-reduce, and emails a formatted research digest.
PDF Pal (2024): SaaS for conversational Q&A over PDFs using RAG with OpenAI embeddings, Pinecone vector isolation, streaming responses, and PayPal subscription billing.
Off the clock
When I'm not building, I'm usually deep in a history documentary or in the kitchen. I'm a genuinely good home cook, I lean heavily toward meat, and I'll happily argue that my chicken is the best thing I make.
Availability & Location
Based in Nairobi, Kenya (GMT+3). I work for US companies whose teams are mostly in Europe, so my day already overlaps fully with European hours and comfortably with US mornings. Async, distributed work is normal for me.
Open to senior full-stack / AI engineering roles: remote (global) or relocation. Available for full-time, contract, and technical consulting.
